I went today to get my pre-op bloodwork etc. done. I’m kind of surprised at all the tests they ordered: an EKG, a chest x-ray, etc. I mean, sure, bloodwork, but an EKG? The nurse said it was standard for surgeries, but I didn’t have those things done for my previous lumpectomy, the c-section, *or* the finger mass excision. Huh.
Anyhoo, I forgot to mention that I finally found out the measurements of the lump (saw it on the paperwork from the surgeon). It is 3.1 cm x 2.2 cm. Tom did some fancy mathifyin’ and figured out that the lump’s volume is about an inch. So about the size of one of those big red grapes.
That seems really really big to me. Don’t they usually talk about lumps being in measurements of millimeters, not centimeters?
