Life After Diagnosis

Two Years (and counting) since My Breast Cancer Diagnosis. Get busy living, or get busy dying.

About

Diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in March 2005 at the age of 33, I’m BRCA1+ and er/pr negative. I had a bilateral mastectomy in April 2006 and did six rounds of chemo from June to September 2005. Two years (and counting) since diagnosis, I’m still learning about life after diagnosis.

Do you mind if I mention your site in mine?

    Hi,
New to the blog thing but new to the cancer thing too. I just wanted to say thank you for writing about it – and I hope I am not intruding by reading. I finished my first cycle (three days) of chemo one week ago and it’s just so nice to read another’s experience. You’re quite an inspiration. I’m experiencing many of the same side effects; up, down, crawl, and I too keep pulling at my hair to see if it’s coming out yet. Anyway, I’m glad I came across your page. My prayers are with you!

I found your site to be SO upbeat and helpful. I am also BRCA1+. I had the complete hysterectomy in 2006 and a double mastectomy on December 1 2007. I have my hopefully last surgery on August 23 to make the “girls” perfect! Your thoughts and positive energy was contagious. I’d love to know how you are doing now. Thanks for the uplifting page. You rock! How are the twins?
